MACH 2012 Gets Off to a Roaring Start
Obviously we were confident that it would be a good show, in the past it’s always proved enormously beneficial for us. However, even we are surprised at the volume of visitors and actual business being done on the stand – usually for our customers it’s more of a fact finding mission but our orders this year so far are extremely healthy.
We do have a number of brand new machines on the stand this year and they’ve attracted a lot of attention. The Dugard 42 TTS is our newest, a 42mm CNC production lathe, it completes the set joining the 52mm machines (Dugard 52 TTSY and 52TTS) launched last year and our massively popular Dugard 32 Sub Spindle machine (the first machine we sold this week!). We’re also launching our HD range of heavy duty VMCs which has an interesting reverse axes table so the footprint is much smaller. Finally we’re premiering two new 5 axis machines, theDugard HSM600 and the Dugard RM250RT which have both drawn quite a crowd.
As well as the new machines we’ve got some old favourites to show everyone at MACH. The Dugard 1000 Y Plus and Dugard ECO 1000 are our representatives from the Dugard VMC range. We’ve also got a Dugard BNC 2660 multi function lathe as well as two Samsung lathes – thePL60MC and PL2000SY.
Another highlight this week is that our videographer Paul Dugard was asked to video the opening ceremony (that’ll be available shortly, as soon as we’ve had time for a quick spot of editing!). There MTA bosses were keen to mention that manufacturing in the UK has been pivotal in the steady climb out of recession. Three time Olympic gold medallist Steve Backley cut the ribbon, commenting:
“The passion in this room for manufacturing is like the feeling of winning Olympians standing on a rostrum”
Steve brought the Olympic Torch with him and that also took a tour of the NEC!
The 32 is just one of the machines we’ve sold so far this week – which is why we’ve thought ahead, the head office in Hove is currently receiving the new machines we’ve ordered for our MACH customers. If you need a demonstration or any further information on any of our machines just give us a call at the office (01273 732286) or email (email@example.com)
