Our June special offer was the subject of MTD’s recent visit to Hove, have a look at the video below:
The column moves from left to right and has a double door on the front of the machine, so the twin pallet functionality is ideally served – you can set the machine while it is in operation. Added to that, the control is on an arm, meaning that you can move it around to use on either side of the machine.
Paul points out that the SMEC LCV 400D is a big machine (it weighs 4800kg) with a full cast base. The linear guides give you speed, with a BBT40 toolchanger and 12,000rpm spindle speed and 48m/min rapids. While it’s only got 16 tools, it’s perfect for high speed, high volume simple parts manufacture. It’s really built for a subcontracting environment, someone who has a continuous need for demanding machining.
This is an ex-demo machine and that is reflected in the price, at just £85,000. It’s currently in stock and that of course means you can have it delivered ASAP so get in touch to arrange a demonstration
